In 2008, Linda Iverson and I founded an online website FabricDivas.com, as a resource for creative sewers, costumers and crafters. The site specializes in vintage, couture, and retro, fabrics, buttons and trims. Also on line, is the “Fresh Vintage Boutique”, which is a great way for us to support local designers by selling fabulous artwork, jewelry, wearables, fashion accessories, dolls (for grown-ups), and other unique items.
Some of our items are created by the residents of Little City in Palatine, and 80% of the proceeds go to support their art therapy programs.
There is also a Fabric Talk page for interesting messages from contributing designers and crafts people.
Thank to everyone who made the Fall/Winter trunk show a great success! A Spring/Summer show is planned for April next year. The event will be in downtown Palatine, so please check out our website for details in late January 2010.
